This book explores two very touchy subjects for modern day Christians and also for educators.. The first is how old is the earth and how it came to be. The second is Darwinian Evolution compared to Intelligent Design. Traditional beliefs of science and the church have changed over the years. It has been found that some traditions remain tried and true while others are stumbling blocks in the road to truth. For example, both the church and science generally believed in a flat earth at one time, but later discarded this tradition as faulty. A tradition developed that leaches were useful in sucking "poison" out of the blood but was later discarded by doctors. Parents will find this book very useful in answering their children's questions about what is being taught in school.. However, they may find that certain traditions they have long had may need to be revised. On the other hand, scientists in reading this book may gain a new appreciation of the validity of the ancient scriptures.
