This book stopped me from avoiding my PhD supervisor by the end of my first year. A guided text starting at the front end of a research project and moving gently through each stage - using simple language. As the title states this book, is a step-by step guide. For those of us starting on the road to research - even if it's a short lived journey to completing honours, masters or a PhD project - this book will be used and is worth the fee. Am in the middle of a research project and am still trying to sort out all the how-to's of organizing the information. Got this out of my school library and know I will use it again and again as I continue through the process. So I just had to have it, even on a students spare budget. Definitely a keeper. The format of the book is approachable and the information is immediately useful.
