The best help to understanding / conducting public health research

As a graduate student in public health, this book has been an incredible asset to my education. It was first introduced to me as the text for a research methods course in 'Health Behavior', but I've used it repeatedly since then in writing my thesis, abstracts, and journal articles. Specifically, the book includes a step by step breakdown of the research process... in writing my thesis, this step by step design turned a very intimidating and overwhelming task into something much more organized and enjoyable. Because the book is structered well, it is both an ideal introduction for those new to behavioral science and as an aid to more advanced professionals writing for scientific journals. Statistics are approached in a very comfortable manner, and each chapter is brightened with a cartoon explaining things 'in a nutshell'. Overall, the book is an invaluable resource and I'll continue to refer to it throughout my career.
