Revenge at Ravenna

Captain Bill Millers, military police investigator stationed in Columbus, Ohio, is sent with his sergeant, an ordnance specialist, to find the cause of the explosion at the Ravenna Ordnance Plant. This explosion rocked northeastern Ohio on March 24, 1943. The actual event was not explained until the early 2,000's. The government blamed the explosion on a munitions-laden truck hitting a pot hole. This would make sense in spring-time Ohio, except that the last truck was already backed up to the almost full, underground storage magazine, and the truck mostly unloaded when the explosion occurred. This historical fiction proposes an alternative explanation. While conducting their inquiries the MP's meet a "glorious waitress" and the sergeant encourages his friend to pursue a relationship. The serious captain, intent on finding the cause of the explosion and helping to win the war, learns how to pursue two objectives at once, and romance grows quickly while the mystery is solved. The historical side of the story is well-researched. The solution is fictional, as far as the author knows. The content is morally profitable, as all books should be.
