Deborah Simmons makes a good read and happy ending for the "Black Sheep" of the de Burgh family Reynold de Burgh. He and his squire on a pilgrimage come to Grave's End, a kingdom they thought abandoned until they meet Sabina. Sabina was betrothed to a knight who turned out to be a coward, and according to her and what people she has left in Grave's End their being terrorized by a dragon. Reynold as they investigate looks at Sabina and sees everything he could ever want but can't have because of his deformity. Sabina looks and sees a handsome, brave, and capable knight who she isn't worthy of. But both find in the end that they are worthy of not just one another but happiness.
