Our eldest son, age 29, is expecting his first child and this was his absolute favorite book when he was young. Richard Scarry Books are very visual, leading to lots of interest from young toddlers. I've been a mom to 7 kids over the past 29 years. Five of our children are adopted from foreign countries and these books were also a great asset in helping them open up and learn their first American words. Love Richard Scarry!

This book is one from my childhood with an updated cover. It has many different stories that are 1 to 3 pages. I can't wait to share it with my daughter! It has great stories like the Teeny Weeny Mouse, the 3 Billy Goats Gruff, Gingerbread Man and SO many more! A must buy for kids!

My son is 25 and when he was little, this was his favorite book! I just found a copy of it and it brought back such wonderful memories. The stories are true to the traditional fairy tales and the illustrations are adorable. I'd recommend this to any one.
Excellent bedtime story book for 3 and up

This book is a nice departure from the sometimes frenetic, silly books for this age range. Great opportunity to let child select one story for bedtime read--the only problem is that all the stories may well be his/her favorite. We especially love the story of the 3 wishes. It gave us the first opportunity to act out a story and venture into drama. This is a sound buy or a very safe gift for a child 3 and up. Actually we began at 2-and-a-half and had no attention problems. Although rated for ages 4-8, I'd guess 7 & 8-year olds may be a bit bored with this book. Happy reading.
