This is a must have! It's so great that I couldn't put it down. I really hope Victoria Holmes writes many great books like this. The only thing I would've changed would be that Jamie and Helena were secretly in love!

Helena Roseby, living as a magistrate and quarry owner's daughter in a Grand Estate, loves horses and riding. But when her father brings home a new horse, Oriel, her life is completely changed. Nell gets invovled with local smugglers, and has to try to continue to have a normal life, depite visits from local customs officers question her family about the smugglers. And on top of all this, Nell has to prove that Oriel is as loyal and safe as any other horse... Anyone who loves a good read should read this - it is truly amazing. Filled with adventure, excitement, and of course horses, this is a book that is sure to delight anyone of any age - Victoria Holmes truly is a stunning writer.
