Introducing Mr. Rockwell.

Normal Rockwell is my favorite artist of all time. I've enjoyed looking at his paintings and collecting Rockwell calendar's since I was a kid. I own a couple of other books about Rockwell, but was delighted when I discovered this book, ROCKWELL: A BOY AND HIS DOG. The book is a fictionalized account between Rockwell and a local neighborhood boy, Scotty Ingram, who worked sometimes as a model for Rockwell. Scotty was a real boy and was the model Rockwell used in the Four Seasons: A Boy and His Dog paintings. This short book fictionalizes how the paintings came to be. The artwork by Cliff Miller in this story is most impressive. Miller catches all the little nuances of Rockwell and brings the famed artist to life in a very warm and lively way for young readers. The book has a very short bio about Rockwell on the inside cover and includes a facsimile of the Four Season paintings on the back cover. I love this book and recommend it for any Rockwell fan and any child who is interested in classic American art or Norman Rockwell.
