This British farce thrilled audiences in its 1982 debut. A taxi driver gets away with having two wives in different areas of London because of his irregular working schedule. Complication is piled upon complication as the cabby tries to keep his double life from exploding. John Smith's comic adventures continue in the sequel, Caught in the Net.
I saw this play when I was in Julian, CA years ago. I never laughed so hard. I wish more companies would offer this play.
Funniest thing I've ever read

It's hard to read this from cover to cover in one sitting: you laugh so hard that your sides start to hurt.A taxi driver has 2 wives and has to create lies to keep them from finding out about each other. Each lie almost gets exposed, so he then creates new, even more outlandish and funnier lies to cover the previous ones.On a 3rd reading it occurred to me that the characters see no humor in the situation and say nothing funny from their perspective. In the meantime the audience must be howling.
