A harrowing, ripped-from-the-headlines story of lives altered in the blink of an eye, once again proving her eloquence and dexterity as an author." --Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of... This description may be from another edition of this product.
A very compelling story based on a famous kidnapping case but the writing style lacked interest and suspense. In fact the bulk of the book became long and boring. Great subject matter but done in a droll manner. Really, don't waste your time. If you want the facts just spend a few minutes on historical research. Disappointing.
Fictionalized account of a true story
Published by ND Terri , 5 years ago
This book was definitely one of my favorites that I have read recently. It is based on a true story, and some of the real names and dates and events are given, with the author filling in the blanks according to her imagination. She really makes the characters come alive, and you can feel the fear and helplessness in a kidnapped 11-year old. We read this for book club, and it was a good book for discussion.
