Sakura

Throughout Japanese history, the Cherry blossom, or "Sakura" as it's called in Japanese has been revered by its unmatched beauty and brief presence every year. In Japan, you can read poems about Sakura dating back to 1000 AD. In many castles throughout the country, you can see their depiction in artwork and woodwork decorating the castle. Or, mostly famous shown in traditional Japanese woodblock printing called "Ukiyo-e". Then in modern times, it's hard to find a Japanese anime that doesn't have at least one reference or depiction of Sakura. Within this collection of photographs, I want to bring you inspiration and the drive to go visit the Sakura trees someday. In addition, I'll give you the nerdy parts of photography such as Shutter speed, Aperture, ISO, etc. But for people who don't care about any of that, I'll throw in some fun facts about Japan after each picture so you can learn a random fact or two. This will be incredibly handy when you play Jeopardy with your friends and they ask you who Tokugawa Ieyasu is and his significance in Japan... Well if you are sitting here thinking what a Tokugawa is and have no clue what that or who that is. Continue reading and maybe you'll learn some "valuable" Japanese history! Hope you enjoy it!
