By lifting the flaps and moving Santa from scene to scene through hidden slots, the reader can help him find his reindeer in time for Christmas. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book in 2004 for my 1 3/4 year old and she adored it. She loved it again this year and I'm buying another copy for when it inevitably wears out. This is her favorite Xmas book, and she wants to read it over and over again. Each page has your usual lift up flaps but behind one of the flaps is a slot that you can slide a cardboard Santa through to send him to the next page. E.g., slide thru a roof slot and come out of a chimney on the next page. So in addition to being a lift-the-flap book, it is a little like playing an adventure with a paper doll. The story is told in simple rhymes, and I like the artstyle. My biggest objection is that it is hard to hold the book and turn the pages such that Santa is actually there after each slide. Most often, he slides through and falls out and I have to pick him up off the floor. But my daughter still loves it. It comes with 2 spare Santas in case you lose the first one.
