Every year Santa's littlest helper makes wonderful presents for the children, bakes delicious cookies, and shines his sleigh...and every year the biggest helper tells him no, he can't go with the... This description may be from another edition of this product.
We are a little late with this book. It starts out sort of sad. None of the other big santas will let the littlest help out. They not only leave him out but also make fun of him. In the end he finds a job that is perfect for him. This book could be used for helping children understand how it feels to be left out and how to look for a place they belong when they are left out. While it was not a favorite of my 8 year old's, I felt it had a lot to say. I have it recommended for ages 4-8 years.
One of our favorites, read every year!

Santa's littlest helper is always the first of the helpers to bake sweets, clean his sleigh, polish his boots and have all presents for the children wrapped and ready to go... but every year, the biggest helper always tells him no, he can't go with the others to help Santa deliver presents because he is just too small. But one year while venturing outside alone, sad that he never gets to visit the children, the littlest helper hears voices in the great forest. The animals were complaining that they never get Christmas presents - but the littlest helper can change that... This is a beautifully illustrated and heart warming story that reminds us that even the smallest of people can make a big difference.

I'm currently in my sixth year of learning spanish, and so is the friend that I gave this book to for christmas. When I first picked it up at the bookstore, I was struck by its awesome beauty. The pictures are of a superior quality--every page looks like a painting almost. The colors add wonderfully to the mood of the story. The storyline is typical for a christmas children's book, and it uses simple enough language that a child just learning how to read could probably make some good sense out of it. The pages are of a thicker higher quality glossy (smooth) paper as well. As soon as you open this book you'll be glad that you purchased it.
