Santa in the off season!

The best part about this book is the paintings of Santa, they are awesome and show Santa doing what relaxes him during the off season. Each page also have a poem. If you're looking for another cool book about what Santa does when it's not Christmas Eve he also helps people with books, shots to keep kids well and wells for water... check out Dear Santa: Please, Don't Come This Year by Patricia D. Ludlow.

Beautifully illustrated and delightful book. Wonderful for anyone who loves Christmas and whimsy, regardless of age. This is a real treat and a special holiday book in our home.

I bought this book for my two-year-old neice, Ivy, because I liked the paintings (especially the one of Santa at the bowling alley). The poems were, I thought, a bit long for her, but I figured she'd like the pictures.You cannot imagine my surprise and delight when Ivy started memorizing these poems! Whoda thunk it? My sister said that Ivy loves Santa and wanted to read the book every night. Over the next few months, she learned every poem in the book! I have a theory that the funny stories, nice rhyme, and good meter stuck in her brain more than other prose stories did.I highly recommend this book!
