Picture yourself overlooking the busy seaport of Marseilles as you inhale the saffron-scented steam rising from a seafood soup. Or being served a succulent lamb stew, cooked with the first tender... This description may be from another edition of this product.
By now I have tried almost ALL recipes in this book, this is how addictive it is... I began with the simple ones, like provencal herb chicken and pear pastry desert - and they all turned out outstanding. This encouraged me to try out new, more exotic ones. I have no doubt that the author has tried out all of the recipes, because each and every one of them turns out simply superb!

Beautiful pictures, engaging discussions, delightful descriptions, and delicious recipes. I bought it as a HS graduation gift for an 18yo hopeful future chef - and I'm loathe to give it up!Esp check out the Greek Mushroom - yeah, I know: it's a French cookbook, but it's more a Mediterranean cookbook, and Greece is in the Mediterranean, so...Anyway, try them.
Mr. Williams has done it again.

I found this book to be not only a great coffee table book but also a very good cook book. Whatever Chuck Williams & friends attach their name to is done in such excellent taste - the photographs are beautiful and even though the recipes look complicated, they are easy to follow. Diane gives little hints or suggestions before each recipe which help. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because nothing is perfect.
