For university and college students at intermediate and advanced levels of training in Italian, this practical workbook in two parts ( Schede di lavoro 1 and Schede di lavoro 2 ) offers intensive practice in all areas of grammar, with emphasis on the appropriate use of vocabulary. Schede di lavoro 1 concentrates on presenting the parts of speech, including nouns, pronouns, articles, prepositions, adjectives, and adverbs, as well as the main verb tenses. Depending on the student's needs and level of instruction, the schede can serve to review grammar or to introduce new grammar and vocabulary. The Schede are organized by level of difficulty and lead gradually to an advanced stage at which the student is able to deal with complex and sophisticated material. Schede di lavoro 1 is now available with an accompanying diskette containing the workbook's exercises. The authors have compiled an interactive workbook using the CALIS program developed at Duke University. The schede on diskette is easy to use with detailed on-line help screens.
