Scholar's Plot expertly blends mystery and magic together

Scholar's Plot is an intriguing mystery set in a medieval magical world. As you continue to follow along the adventures of Michael and Fisk, you cannot help but find yourself sucked into the book. Hilari Bell's story ties mystery, struggling friendships, and just a bit of magic together that makes you never want to stop reading. My favorite part about Bell's writing is the uniqueness of Michael's and Fisk's voices. Even though the whole book is told in alternating first-person narration of the two of them, you can open the book anywhere at random and immediately know whose chapter it is. I highly recommend the Knight and Rogue series for all young-adult fantasy and mystery lovers.
