An account of school life in a State Girls' School 1959 -1966 from nervous First Years through to A levels in the Sixth form. Four friends found that, on reaching their 70 years milestone, one of their number had developed Alzheimer's disease. This prompted the writing of recollections of that bygone era, because with Alzheimer's the past is sometimes more relatable than the present. Vivid personal memories were assisted by a diary, resourcefully retained through the decades by the co-writer. The School had an autocratic Headmistress and some Teachers had decidedly idosyncratic teaching styles, but all were fascinating characters and school life was never dull with the background of the events and fashions of the 'swinging' Sixties.
