I find it useful

I find this book useful in my research lab; I have used various chapters as assigned readings for our weekly discussion groups, especially when I have a new crop of undergraduate students joining my lab. The book raises good issues, gets my students thinking about their involvement in the research process, and what it means to invest themselves to the point of having ownership in a project as opposed to being a technician. The issues of data ownership and record keeping are also good. Sure, I could just raise these issues myself, but our discussions are better after the students have read the assigned chapter and had a chance to think about the issues. I've ordered my own copy so I don't have to keep checking out the copy from the library.
