True stories from a missing chapter of American history
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
The authors do a great job presenting the true stories of three families of children who rode orphan trains. Growing up is never easy. Imagine going "home" with strangers and growing up in a new culture while adjusting to members of a new family. Many students today have never heard of "orphan trains," much less studied this 75-year period of American history. This book is an excellent introduction for readers in middle school and up.
