Seeing the Bride in All the Scriptures

Andy's last series looked at some, Peter, Jude and Boaz, who can be described as 'Men God Moved, ' and were stirred and carried along by the Holy Spirit to fulfil God's purpose. In this new series, Andy looks at 'Women God Moved', to see how He also used them: some, by their godly example; others, because of the imagery conveyed by the place they occupy in His Word. Along with everything God wants us to gain from this study, Christian women should be assured that He never devalues them. To prove this, He has used a series of Bible brides to occupy very special places in His purpose, and emphasise that He elevates them to the highest possible level by using them as examples of what He calls "the bride, the Lamb's wife." Andy begins in Genesis and continue in the Books of the Law, before flowing on through the Psalms and the Prophets - and looks at Eve, Rebekah, Israel, the Shulamite, Ruth and more.At the outset, Andy acknowledges that we have the right to explore the Word, but clear pictures will not emerge unless we give the Lord the right to explain. When He does, the effect on us ought to mirror how the two from Emmaus felt when they asked, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?"
