Wow. It seems like I'm not the only one who read this book as a child and has been looking for it ever since! Truthfully, I can't remember much about it except it was so great that I read it all in one afternoon.
I finally found it... after EIGHT YEARS!

Every now and then, something seemingly insignificant in my life will take complete control. I've been in one of those times recently. For the past eight years or so, I've been trying to remember the name of a single book I read. I recall enjoying it very thoroughly, but for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was called. Tonight, about five minutes ago, I found this book. Sure, this might not seem like such a big deal to you. But for me, it has been an obsession. Every week for however long I've been looking for it, I have spent at least half an hour searching relentlessly for it. I'd tried everything - every combination of keywords, titles, authors, etc. - that I could think of. Just as I was about to give up, I remembered something from the book that helped immensely. You see, the book was about a young girl who dreamed of being a figure skater. One night, in a deep funk, she drew wings a photo of herself. The next morning, when she wakes up, she finds that she actually does have wings. This one detail was enough for me to find the book. After about eight years of maddening searching, I've finally found what I thought was a lost memory: SELF-PORTRAIT WITH WINGS by Susan Green. You have no idea how good it felt to finally find this. And it only took me five minutes on Google, and two minutes to buy here.
Great book for Young Adults

This book was a favorite of mine growing up. It's the story of a young girl who takes a picture of herself and draws wings on it. She wakes up the next day to find that she has these very wings, only nobody can see them. The story is cute and has wonderful action and situations. A great read!
