gripping book with soft ending

I wish I could forget this book so I could read it all over again and enjoy the characters and their development. The plot is well-paced and captivating, while the parallel storylines keep you wanting more right up to the end where it feels a little too much like the credits are rolling on a movie and not enough like real people having overcome different obstacles. When I'm in a hurry and need to snatch a book for a waiting room or a flight, this is my go-to.
