After tragedy struck, Caroline Fairchild reluctantly moved her young son to the remote Colorado lodge she'd been hired to redecorate. There she had no choice but to deal with owner Wes Wainwright, the Texas millionaire who represented everything she detested...and everything she desired. Wes thought he'd gotten past it--the pain, the loneliness, the guilt. But meeting Caroline and her boy only reminded him of his own missing child. As sparks ignited between Wes and Caroline, old dangers emerged from the shadows. And they were soon bound by an instant attraction and a frantic race to save two children's lives. But could Wes prevent history from repeating itself?
Texas millionaire, Wes Wainwright has a lodge in Colorado that he goes to to get away from business. He has his six year old daughter, Cassie with him along with his sister, Stella and her son, Shane. Stella dropped in to Caroline Fairchild's life at a time when Caroline has just lost her home to a raging fire. Was it set deliberately? Caroline needs this job to redecorate the Colorado lodge in order to get back on her feet. She takes her six year old son, Danny with her. Wes's friend, Dexter Tate shows up with an eye for Stella but he is willing to make a pass at any woman, Caroline included. Felicia is Cassie's nursemaid and she also informs Caroline of Wes's deep sadness about his missing son. The two children just seem to get into a bit of mischief on their own, yet was someone trying to get them into trouble? Wes is a bit shocked in the attraction that he feels for Caroline, and is a bit surprised that she does not act on her attraction to him. Most women he knew were willing to hop into bed with him for a little fun. Was Shane, Stella's 17 year old son, trying to cause trouble? How does Dex fit in? And Caroline runs into trouble when she encounters and early snow fall in October at the lodge. Darn good plot - really great characters - excellent mystery - darn good read. Definitely Recommend -m
