A very good book, with a very good mystery.

I really liked this book. Miss Anika Owen meets the son of the new heir of the estate next door to her step-father's. this young man is an A- merican, whose father sent him to investigate the suspicious circumstances surrounding his brother's death. The soi-disant heir, a distant cousin, who is involved in horse-racing con games tries to complicate matters, by trying to kill the hero. So the hero makes it appear that he has succeeded. It works, as you will read.
