Kotoko Kashiwagi is an aspiring doll maker who dreams of one day making dolls as life-like and beautiful as her idol's, the popular yet mysterious doll maker 'Fool'. She'd also like nothing better than to meet him, but when she does, the circumstances are nothing like she imagined
Ok, so same old same old, with two guy characters and a girl. But you know, I actually ended up really enjoying this story. I've never read a manga so focused on doll making, and the artistry behind it was very interesting. Also, the fact that Higashiyma doesn't stay within a single defined genre makes for a fun read. Since I like most genres, the switches from horror, to romance, to fantasy and silliness were very amusing for me. I wouldn't suggest this for a first time manga reader, but anyone who's read "everything" should try this story out. I think it's directed towards a rather specific audience, but to me, that was great. I can't wait to read vol. 2!
