Silas livesin peace for almost two years.Judge Waters and Mitchell learn from a letter that Suzzane sent, Silas was alive.Waters hunger for power and Mitchell's hunger for revenge, trick Silas back to Kansaswhere he is arrested. Waters wants a show trial to make a name for himself sohe can run for governor. Mitchell wants a hanging.Suzzane has some friends a retired lawman, a retired outlaw, and an old Philadelphialawyer. They fight for Silas's life and the people of Sinclair fight for theirfreedom from Mitchell.
