He has served six years inprison for causing an accident death in a bar fight.Silas worked on his sister and her husband farm and tried to go straight. If Silas stayed, he'd be hung, so he stole two horses and escaped.On the run, Silas found a friend, Red who was also on the run. The two rode to Californiawhere the they found a new job working for Suzzanne, widow woman. Threemen from Kansas track Silas and after a shootout, Silas fakes his death. Silas livesin peace for almost two years.Judge Waters and Mitchell learn from a letter that Suzzane sent, Silas was alive.Waters hunger for power and Mitchell's hunger for revenge, trick Silas back to Kansaswhere he is arrested. Waters wants a show trial to make a name for himself sohe can run for governor. Mitchell wants a hanging.Suzzane has some friends a retired lawman, a retired outlaw, and an old Philadelphialawyer.
