Sweet Halloween book for ages 3-10

Simon the Ghost has a problem: he has to haunt the house, but he also has other pursuits he actually enjoys. When someone moves into Simon’s house, he comes face to face with a kid who wants to be a ghost. Simon tricks Chester into “helping” but things don’t go quite right as they have different ideas on how to do “ghost chores.” I bought this book last year and my kids (5 and 8) have loved the fun illustrations and spotting the situations that Simon and Chester get into, and the friendship that develops as they find out the things they have in common and that they’re not so different after all. A gentle, not-scary (but still fun!) Halloween book that my kids want to read even after the Halloween season is over.
