As I had encountered the writing of Jim Lewis in his contributions to several different magazines, I was curious to read his debut novel. I was not disappointed. I read the book when it was first published and have re-read it several times since then. Even from the very beginning you become entrenched in the inner-workings of Wilson's mind. Lewis' style reminds me a lot of Ian McEwan in his treatment of characters. The fact that Wilson is a "self-proclaimed monster..." while still being likeable to the reader is fascinating.
