I recently took my first semester of calculus based physics. Unit N of Moore's Six Ideas series starts off slow in my opinion, but provides a useful introduction for those who have not been acquainted with physics concepts before. It teaches the reader how to think and solve problems rather than just giving formulas and plugging away numbers. Later on, it introduces more complex concepts such as simple harmonic motion and non-uniform gravitation, which are slightly more difficult to learn, but with time and studying, become easier. I think he could have explained the aforementioned concepts a bit more. I think anyone who is new to physics should start with these books. Units C, N, and R are all well-written, and explain the concepts clearly.
