It's another in the collection of this prolific artist and book maker. As with the previous Sketches of Italy, this is the result of a tour of art and art history stops all around France. Moore draws in museums, taking impressions right from the masters hanging on the walls. He also draws the buildings themselves, particularly if they are old and of architectural interest. And he draws fellow travelers, human beings caught in whatever pose or activity, as this is also part of the art of life. To all this he's added haiku, another element to arrest the mind as one contemplates the drawings, revealing thoughts of the artist as he drew. It's a delightful little book for anybody . . . for fellow artists, fellow poets, and just fellow human beings.
