This book being inspired by African mythology and about a mermaid, I was very interested and excited to read it. But I feel like it was lacking in the narration of the story itself and the writing style was pretty basic and not my favorite. Towards the end, particularly the end battle/ confrontation scene, I felt the story was lacking the most
