Kyoko Gets a Stalker

In volume 14, we met Reino, the creepy lead singer of Vie Ghoul. Lead by Reino, the band was copying Sho's style to gain success. In this volume, Reino goes after Kyoko to get at Sho. What will Sho do when Reino kidnaps her? This was an enjoyable volume. Reino was creepy yet believable, and Kyoko didn't seem too defenseless. It was cute to see Sho worrying and looking out for her. He's still overly possessive, but he's made some progress. I was a little disappointed with Kyoko's reaction, though, hence the lower rating. I was hoping that she would have moved on a little from her hatred of Sho, but that's not the case. I was expecting a little more maturity from her. Still, her feelings are well-portrayed. Some of her scenes are really wicked. I was also glad to see that she gets along with Sho's manager, Shoko, instead of hating her. So although I was a little disappointed with Kyoko's progression in this volume, it was still good. I just have higher expectations of "Skip Beat" than I do for most manga because it's so good. Don't miss this volume!
