Anna J. is back with a riveting novel depicting the devastation caused by cocaine use in a Southwest Philadelphia community. You have to use what you got to get what you want. For Journey Clayton, this statement rings more than true as she struggles under the weight of her mother's cocaine addiction. She learns from a very young age that family doesn't offer as much help as she hoped they would. It's not until she befriends Khalid, the son of a neighborhood drug dealer, who is trying to stay above the struggle himself, that she starts to believe there might just be hope . . . even for little girls in the ghetto. Snow White is a story of survival, betrayal, strength, and courage. It will pull you in from the very beginning and won't let you go until the last page. As seen through the eyes of a young girl coming of age, observe how Journey struggles to survive amidst the deception, violence, and murder that surround her.
This book is graphic, real vivid and extremely hard to put down. I am half way through. to see the crack life through the eyes of a child, a nine year old child that has to prostitute herself to help mama get her medicine
I had a great Journey!!!

First let me start out by saying that I love all the books Anna J has written. This book was differnt than the other books that she wrote, however it was also a equally great book. I like this book because it tells the story of so many children and it brings to life the part of life that so many females are ashamed to talk about and that is being taking advantage of at such a young age. It told the story of hood life and it did't sugar coat anything that happens in the life of children who may have the same things going on in there life. The only thing that I can say that I would have liked to change was the way that the story ended. It leaves you wandering what hapoened did Journey and Khalid die or will there be a part two??? Anna J bravo to you for writting another awesome book and I can't wait for future books!

This was my first read from Anna J. and I'd have to say it won't be my last The story was very interesting and on point because young girls do go through things like this everyday. Every story real or fiction has a message, open ya eyes and find it. If I could give more stars I would. I'm looking forward to the next book coming in 2010. Anna J. you have a new fan.
Such A Sad Story

Anna J went a totally different route with her latest novel, Snow White: A Survival Story. Such a perfect title for such a gritty read. The story centers around a young girl at the age of nine that had to do adult things just to get by. Thank God for friends and small blessings, because this childs angels came in the weirdest forms. This was a completely different type of story coming from Anna J, as I am used to her erotic side. I applaud her for stepping out on the edge and showing that she can be versatile. Not too many authors can flip their writing style as she has done in the past and now with this newest release. Kudo's Mz. J. I loved the book, and don't let any bad reviews discourage you. You can't please everyone all the time, and it's pointless to keep writing the same story over and over again. This one was 5 stars all the way. Trish Book Lovers Book CLub Atlanta, GA

Anna J is back with a vivid and gripping tale that will cause your head to spin. With realistic characters that draws pure emotion from the reader at will. I found myself cringing at the realism and detail of the story. Journey goes on a journey that no 9 years old should ever have to take. Yes, this is a street tale, but one of a different caliber. Anna put a whole new spin on survival in the hood. Just when you think you have it figured out Anna throws you under the bus. This is one I wholeheartedly recommend to new and old readers alike. Kudos Anna J on spinning a fantastic tale.
