This is a crime novel set in South Wales and featuring Detective Inspector Ben Field. With only a young female sergeant to help as well as drawing on the support of colleagues from his previous job he faces a number of powerful enemies who will stop at nothing to obtain what they want. At the same time, he has to face a crisis in his personal life which threatens his ability to pursue the case with his customary dedication.
