Expert baker provides complete breadmaking instructions, as well as 104 kitchen-tested recipes for starters and breads and cakes utilizing starters. Alaskan sourdough pancakes, pineapple bran bread,... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The book was fine but it did not contain any recipes for plain sourdough breads and cakes. There were a lot of recipes for little known sourdoughs (made from potatoes, etc) but I definitely can't use it for my regular old sourdough (made with flour and yeast). It's good information, if you are looking to experiment with different types of sourdough but I wasn't. I just wanted a way to expand my recipe list using sourdough as a leavening agent.

I have repeatedly turned to this book to make the West Coast French Sourdough Bread on page 115 of the book published in 1967. I now have to order a new book because the one I have is falling apart. While there are not a lot of varieties of sourdough starters, the one I have from this book is twenty years old and everyone loves the bread I make.
