Southern Cunning is a journey through the folklore of the American South and a look at the power these stories hold for modern witches. Through the lens of folklore, animism, and bioregionalism the book shows how to bring rituals in folklore into the modern day and presents a uniquely American approach to witchcraft born out of the land and practical application.
An excellent and thoughtful exploration of innately Southern Witchcraft
Published by C.C. Harber , 4 years ago
This book spoke to me in a way no other books relating to witchcraft have before. Oberon lays forth his personal relationship with Southern praxis and modern witchcraft with a grace and thoughtfulness that earns his book a permanent place in my collection. His reasonings are well explained, his tone is honest, and his conclusions leave plenty of room for further discussion.
If you are interested in an examination and explanation of witchcraft beyond what is common and which explores a unique regional relationship with witchcraft, look no further. I honestly cannot recommend this book highly enough.
