This manual presents situations and vocabulary that medical personnel encounter in the course of their daily work. Correlated to Basic Spanish Grammar, 6/e, dialogues, personalized questions, grammar... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book a few years ago and really like it a lot. I think the low rating it received is a little unfair since the people rating it went low just because they didn't know it is a book for people who speak pretty fluent Spanish. It's laid out nicely based mostly on specialties and areas of the hospital. It has an excellent and wide terminology section in the back. It also presents the terminology and vocabulary in a practical, easy to remember manner by using realistic dialog between the provider/patient. I recommend this book to anyone who is pretty fluent in Spanish already. It's defiantly not a book to learn basic Spanish with.
Spanish for Medical Personnel, 6th ed. review

This text was used for a course at a community college in Texas. Having lived on the border (and Spanish being my 3rd language), I respectfully disagree with anyone who says this book/CD is "worthless." I took the course to be able to communicate better as both a licensed massage therapist and certified pharmacy technician. My teacher was super, and I look forward to another class with her. The twenty lessons, six appendices, and both Spanish-English and English-Spanish vocabulary lists, cover almost every medical situation one can imagine, from emergency room to diabetic dietary consult. Por favor,¡estudie más!
