Sparkford is a small Somerset village which lies mostly to the south of the London to Exeter road (A303) and has been bypassed in recent years. Many who travel to the West Country whilst on their way to or from Devon or Cornwall for their holidays will know it as a pleasant and convenient place to stop for lunch. It is also known as the home of Haynes Publishing and the Haynes Motor Museum. This text comprises a brief history of Sparkford through the ages, desciptions of notable and commercial buildings past and present, local stories and personalities, and contains historic and previously unpublished photographs.
