SpongeBob sends away for a free toy from the back of a cereal box. He is so excited that he vows to wait by his mailbox, day and night, until his prize arrives. But will his free toy be worth the long... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I really like Spongebob Squarepants books but I like this one the most! I especially like the part when Spongebob got his amazing free toy (the string). I'm in grade 2 and I think this book is in the middle level for me. There are a few big words.
A UnderSea Primer - a review of SpongeBob's Special Delivery

"SpongeBob's Special Delivery" is a nice little primer. Written at the 2nd Grade level, it's doesn't have the problem some books do, where the story lacks continuity; i.e. it isn't absolutely necessary for your child to have seen this particular episode to understand what's going on. The story as presented holds together. The story is about waiting for a prize from a cereal box. SpongeBob sends off for his 'mystery gift' and waits... and waits... and waits. With Patrick, of course, and to the annoyance of his neighbor, Squidward. Besides the goofy humor of them waiting so long, when the prize comes, we find out that it's a piece of string. We might be unhappy if that was our prize, but SpongeBob and Patrick are delighted. Their delight soon ends though when the string breaks. I won't tell you what happens next, except to say that Squidward, of all people, comes to the rescue. Talking Points::: Sponge Bob, Patrick, Squidward and Gary are pretty darn popular and so I think this book would be a fine 'motivational' book that would get children reading. The artwork is cheerful and the color runs from page to page. The print is large and there aren't too many lines per page so it ought to be especially good for reluctant readers. For those who are too young, I think they would still enjoy the story the the zany activities of the ocean's favorite sponge. Okay Read-Aloud.
