Good Introduction to SPSS - You may even survive it!

I had to purchase this for my PhD work at NCU. The book and the material (SPSS 17 application) are fairly well organized. As with most textbooks dealing with software applications, you can easily get lost in the detail. Put that on top of statistics and you have fun beyond belief. That being said, SPSS 17 is a great statistical application, and the book will help you understand how to use the application. You may need to go elsewhere to find practical application for understand where and when to use the different outputs. Overall, you will learn from it, and possible survive it!
