Accidents happen. But only when a Marine says so. Team Midnight is sent into the heart of Vietnam to cause a certain 'accident.' But when they find themselves in the possession of a prisoner, getting out becomes a mission more complex-and more dangerous-than getting in...
The combat scenes made me duck for cover. The black humor made me laugh. You always know you've picked up a good book when even the enemy soldiers make you feel their pain. Man, for a while there, I thought I'd have to call a medic to treat me!Nice work, James. Your books are a cut above some of the action stories I've followed. I'll be going back to read your series from the start. And I'll be looking for number 7 to come. Tell me we've not seen the end of Night Runner!!
Wow! THe action. Wow! the irony.

A son returns to Vietnam as a Force Recon Marine on a mission in the country where his father died in an earlier war. And kills the son of a Vietnamese father in the process.Lotta irony here. To go along with the action of other book. I like the Native American character, Night Runner. He's a tour d' force in this series, now that I've gone back to read the whole series from the start.I agree with those who said the first book had some stock characters. But Wow. How they've grown up. Fully developed. Fully believable. No wonder we admire our military. These are the real Marines in action. Thanks again, James, for a great series. Keep them coming.
