Byron Buford is a down-and-out factory worker with a dream to somehow recapture that one shining moment of his life, that memory that nourishes his soul and feeds his fantasies--that long-ago day when he debuted his Elvis impersonation at the high school talent show. Now Byron's gone to Las Vegas. Sex, drugs, delusion--he's gone "stark raving Elvis"!
I read this book years ago and I've never forgotten it. The plight of the main character is exceptionally moving, and the culmination of the story will leave you emotionally charged. Well worth the read, whether or not you are a fan of Elvis Presley. If you are, you'll find an extra poignance in the story.
Stark Raving Elvis

A fun, witty book about an impersonator who gets "caught in a trap"--just like his idol. A lot of fun whether you're an Elvis fan or not (and I don't know which would find it funnier).
