Stedman's word books are all very useful to the medical transcriptionist. I have never had a word that I could not find in Stedman's books. I have several! You can't go wrong.
Top Pick for Radiology Transcription

Stedman's "Radiology and Oncology Words" is a superb reference for the radiology transcriptionist. Having been a full-time in-house imaging transcriptionist for years now, I can vouch for the comprehensiveness of this fine volume. I use many references in imaging, including "Radiology Word Book" by T. Indora and S. Pitman's "Radiology Imaging Words and Phrases," but I would have to say that Stedman's is the volume in which the puzzled anatomical reference, interventional instrument, or medical mnemonic I'm searching for is usually found. Additionally, I have found Stedman's oncology section invaluable; the above-mentioned references are lacking in this very important field. The only drawback I can think of regarding this fine reference is that this edition is July 1995. A lot of new medical equipment/terms have evolved since that time. Still, when compared to the aforementioned references described above, Stedman's "Radiology" is, in my estimation, tops. I highly recommend it.
