This book is more like a "Cliff's Notes" of the Apocrypha. Its subtitle suggests we will meet the characters of these books, but instead we get a run down of each apocryphal book. It is still a good resource since most Bibles do not contain these books, or at least only contain some of them. The only Bible I'm aware of that contains all of the books in the same order as presented in Between the Testaments is the New Interpretter's Study Bible. This book seems to be meant as an introductory text and not a critical analysis. But most readers should they stumble upon this book will still find that useful. It is a simple read and even contains some brief study questions at the end of each chapter. It may not be a masterpiece, but it still gets the job done.
