A winner for Teachers, Guided Reading Classes, Reading and Conference.

This volume takes a lot of the work out of guided reading or reading and conference classes for advanced students of Spanish. There are discussion questions before and after and grammatical review after each story. The stories are excellent---she has a nice style, exploring male/female relationships with humor and irony.

It is a magical, intoxicating book that has allowed me to discover the wonderful world woven by the word magic of Allende. In here we discover Eva Luna and her mother and their odd, surreal world in South America and their odd, numbing stories with Indians, revolutionaries, mad English doctors, Arab seductresses and a light-eyed storyteller with an incredible lifestory!

After 10 years of not reading a book in Spanish, this one was the first one tackled. Inside I found stories which moves the heart and the incidents are intewoven in the most fascinating ways. Cheers !

Eva Luna is one of the best contemporary novels I have read. It is absolutely irresistable--I dreamt about Eva throughout the day when I could not read about her. Reading this book is akin setting sail at sea on a large ship--I truly loved it and I think that Allende is a genious. It is as magical as "100 Years of Solitude" and I recommend it for anyone who enjoys reading.
