In the small New England town of Morse Point, Brenna Miller glosses over her painful past by watching her decoupage students create eye-catching projects out of cutouts, glue, and varnish. But when the mayor's body is found stuffed in a trunk at Morse Point Lake, it's up to Brenna to clear her enigmatic landlord's name of murder--before his fate is signed, sealed, and delivered.
Disclaimer: I know the author. When "Stuck on Murder" came out and I got to read a copy, I prepared all sorts of nice things to say. Like you do to a mother with a strange looking baby. Fortunately, the book was good. I devoured it in two sittings and promptly forgot all prepared platitudes. This book is exactly what a cozy mystery should be. The humor is not forced, the main character Brenna is likeable, the plot believable and the ending, which sets up the next book in the series, did not irritate. I'm looking forward to see what happens next.

Stuck on Murder is a delightful mystery with clever characters and a fun resolution. I'd recommend this book to all my friends. There are smiles and gotcha's, and it's a wonderful spin to the end of the story. Charlotte Maclay

New England cozies are my favorite kind, and Stuck on Murder fits the bill! The setting is a small Massachusetts town brimming with quirky characters and quaint little businesses--exactly my kind of place. The main character, Brenna Miller, has settled in Morse Point to escape her past and start a new life. Instead she discovers the body of the murdered mayor stuffed inside a trunk! The author does a fine job with clues and red herrings, and the ending piques your interest for the next one in the series. A fun and delightful mystery.

I loved this book. I'm all about characters that make me smile and situations that make me laugh out loud. Lucy Lawrence did it all. I didn't want the book to end and can't wait for her next one. She's one funny author and she tells a great tale.

"Stuck on Murder" is the first in a new cozy series with decoupage as the theme. Breanna Miller moves to a small New England town to forget her past in Boston but somehow stumbles across the dead body of the major. To make matters worse, Breanna's landlord, Nate, recently had a very public feud with the major, making Nate the prime suspect. Breanna plays sleuth in an attempt to clear her landlord's name. Anyone who loves New England or small town cozies will probably like "Stuck on Murder." You don't need to like decoupage to enjoy this mystery either; the cast of characters & the town make the story.
