Great Version of a Great Book

My mother was going to buy a good bible for my daughter's 7th birthday. I said NOT to buy King James, for fear it would be too complicated. My mother, however, did buy this King James for my daughter. I am very pleased at the ease of her reading (she reads on a 2nd grade, mid-year level) and understanding of the scripture. Verses are studied in the poetic text I used growing up, with a little "smoothing over". There are awesome study guides that can help with personal or homeschool study. The red letter helps her understand that Jesus didn't write all this stuff, as well as help with the distinction between old and new testiments. I recommend getting color-coded stick-on tabs (search for "bible tabs" in the book category) to help with category distinction. I am about to purchase another one for my 6 year old.
