This briefer text enables students, especially those from nontraditional backgrounds, to capitalize on their own strengths in learning styles, whether they be analytical, creative, or practical. Through its diverse pedagogy, it also emphasizes different pathways to knowledge, so that students can understand what they learn from different points of view and different choices they make.
This is better then the book. It gives examples on how the word is used and there is test questions which are good with an answer key to check your answers. I couldn't do without this study guide.
A Study Guide Worth the Money

This study guide is one of the few I've ever encountered that I heartily recommend to my students. The authors have taken Sternberg's approach utilized in the textbook to heights of utility in this study guide. There are the traditional fill in the blank sections, practice tests, and the like but there are also crossword puzzles, word searches, tips on how to write essays, mental maps, and activities that will help students explore psychology in practical, applicable ways. Answer keys for the 'tests' are provided, along with self-assements that allow students to identify the types of questions they are having problems with. The answer keys also reference back the page in the text book where the concept is discussed. All in all, a very -useful-, versatile tool for students who want more pathways to learning than trying to learn the material by 'reading the chapter 3 times'.
