After I lost my beloved wife of 51 years, this book was given to me 3 years ago by a friend who had lost his wife. I was deep in depression. I can not express how helpful it was. I ordered 5 more copies and have given them all away to friends who lost loved ones. I now have ordered 5 more. At least 3 of my friends to whom I gave copies are now themselves giving copies to bereaved friends. Need I say more.

I was having dificulty dealing with my mother's untimely death and I felt like my life was falling apart. This book, in a very succinct way, explained the greiving process. I learned what I was experiencing was a normal process that had a begining and more importantly an end. I recognized the steps that I had been through and those that would come. It gave me hope. What also impressed me is it gave me warning signs to notice if I was getting into trouble where I needed professional help. It gave me the confidence I needed to accept the greiving process and work my way through it.
